Data Acquisition signal path:
Overview

The cables from the antenna carry the data to the Data Acquisition system that resides in the site building. Here the data are amplified in the C-Rack, then sent to the D-Rack where it is extracted from the intermediate frequency and formatted, with a timing signal, onto the recording media (tape or disk).

The C-Rack also distributes timing signals from the maser throughout the various elements in the signal path.

Also of importance, but not directly in the signal path, are the maser, the station computer, the communications rack, and the array operator back in the Array Operations Center.
