Antenna signal path:
Pedestal Room

While the racks in the Pedestal room are not in the signal path, they are nonetheless important in the operation of elements in the signal path.

The Antenna Control Unit (ACU) rack interfaces with the station computer and commands the azimuth and elevation motors to point the antenna at the source that is being observed. When slewing (moving to source), the antenna can move 90 degrees a minute in azimuth and 30 degrees a minute in elevation.

The subreflector interface rack is in the Pedestal room. It interfaces with the station computer to position the subreflector in focus and rotation.
