GPS Receiver
This device acquires time from the Global Positioning System
(GPS). GPS time is usually used to monitor the site clock, providing
critical information for data correlation. GPS time is occasionally
used to set the site clock if it is disrupted for some reason.
Five of the stations have co-located geodetic GPS receivers that
are part of the International Global Navigation Satellite Systems
network.
