After fringe-fitting and averaging, VLBA visibility amplitudes should be inspected and obviously discrepant points removed (Diamond 1995; Walker 1995b). Usually such editing is done interactively using task IBLED in AIPS or program DIFMAP (Shepherd, Pearson, & Taylor 1994, 1995) in the Caltech VLBI Analysis Programs.
