The VLBA correlator data base and the SCHED source catalog, which is a reflection of that data base, have been subject to the -00deg problem since about August 2004. Some of the sources with declinations between 0 and -1 degree declination have had positions in the data base that are positive in declination. These are sources read from the geodetic solutions we have obtained from Goddard. In a type of software bug all to familiar to astronomers, the sign of the declination was lost when the geodetic results were read. Data correlated with such positions will not have fringes. Thanks to Matt Lister for finding the problem. The data base has been corrected. A corrected SCHED catalog (sources.vlba) has been placed on the distribution ftp site (ftp.aoc.nrao.edu in pub/sched). A mini-release of SCHED will be made soon with the new catalog and a few bug fixes. It will be called release 6.04.2 and will not be announced other than by this email. A search of VLBA correlator job scripts indicates that there were 15 projects in 2005 and 2006 affected by this problem. The PI's are being informed. The sources affected are listed in the attachment for anyone wanting to compare with sources they have observed. We appologize for this error.
