VLBA RFI Bulletin 4: Ft Wingate Missile Launch Scheduled: The military is planning another missile launch from Ft Wingate for Monday, February 02, 1998. The impact zone is somewhere in the WSMR, with the missile trajectory skirting the north arm of the VLA. During previous Ft Wingate missile launches, RFI increased at the VLA and VLBA-PT receivers due to missile and missile payload telemetry, tracking radars, and booster and missile recovery coordination communications. The VLA and VLBA-PT should expect increased 4-Band (VLA only), P-Band, L-Band, S-Band (VLBA-PT only), and C-Band RFI from before the scheduled 6 AM launch, until around noon, Monday. The following frequencies have experienced RFI during previous Ft Wingate missile launches: 5700 MHz, - 5900 MHz, high C-Band: skin track 2200 MHz, S-Band: telemetry 403 MHz, - 404 MHz, above our P-Band: WX telemetry In addition, the following L-band frequencies typically experience increased RFI during any military activity at WSMR: 1357 MHz 1365 MHz 1369 MHz 1385 MHz 1393 MHz
