               in weird screens problems.  The response to the
               mouse and keyboard was very slow and the system
               status screen had nothing but the frame and
               'background' text... no updating was going on.
               Closing and reopening the `xterm" window made no
               difference.  When I rebooted, the system
               experienced a bus error right at the end of the
               load script.
