This is the first schedule for the VLBI Imaging Polarimetry Survey (VIPS). The survey is being scheduled in 18 runs of 11 hours each, recording at 256 Mbps. The survey should commence in January and be finished by December 2006. Subsequent to this observing run completing successfully we plan to submit the next ~5 runs to the dynamic queue. The key file should be named 'bt085l.key' to reflect the name of this group. There are instructions at the top of the file for inserting it into the dynamic queue. These observations can be started between 10:30 and 11:30 PT LST by changing the "start" time. Note that a special version of sched is needed that Craig Walker will make available. Let me know if you have any questions. Ciao, - Greg ----- Date: Wed, 23 Nov 2005 17:32:02 -0700 From: Craig Walker To: analysts@aoc.nrao.edu, vlbaops@aoc.nrao.edu, pperley@aoc.nrao.edu, gbtaylor@unm.edu Subject: Version of SCHED for bt085 Project bt085 requires a special version of SCHED that has an automatic scheduling capability. The first of these schedules, bt085l is now in the dynamic area. The required capability will be in the next SCHED release, but that won't happen soon enough. Therefore I have put a snapshot of the development version of SCHED in my area so that you can make bt085 schedules. To make such schedules on a Linux machine while in the directory with the .key file, type: setenv SCHED /users/cwalker/files/sched_6.03b $SCHED/bin/sched < bt085l.key It will take somewhat longer to run than usual because it is trying to build the schedule. I have tested the above lines. In /users/cwalker/files/sched_6.03b/TEST, there is a full set of output files for that project, although presumably not for the right day. Cheers, Craig
