The band(s) used is(are) X band(s). 96Feb04 20:13:59 The on-line baseline parameters for antenna(s) 5 21 have recently been updated (prior to your observing run) to correct for errors resulting from their recent relocations. In the analysis of your data would you please check for any significant baseline errors especially on these antennas and let the Data Analysts (email - analysts@nrao.edu) know what you find when there are significant baseline errors. Thank you in advance. 96Feb04 20:13:59 The Area Frequency Coordinator at White Sands Missile Range (New Mexico, USA) reports airborne electronic jamming which may be occurring now. It is not clear to us how long this activity will last. Cannon, New Mexico (USA) Air Force Base is supposed to let VLA Operations know before activities start. Here are frequencies affected: 1225 - 1270 MHz, 1340 - 1400 MHz, 2200 - 2290 MHz, 2300 - 2400 MHz, 2690 - 2704 MHz, 2714 - 2720 MHz, 2730 - 2735 MHz,2758 - 2880 MHz, 2855 - 2880 MHz, 4800 - 4990 MHz, 4990 - 5000 MHz, 7895 - 8030 MHz, 8030 - 8100 MHz, 8400 - 8500 MHz, 8500 - 8900 MHz, 8900 - 9000 MHz, 13400 - 13900 MHz, 14500 - 15300 MHz, 15400 - 15500 MHz The jamming is authorized at the frequencies listed until Oct 31, 96. If a complaint does occur, we can shut them down, since the authorization specifically says that the jamming can proceed at those frequencies as long as the exercise does not interfere with the VLA. Contact Clint Janes for further information and to make complaints. Clint Janes, VLA Frequency Coordinator/Phillip Hicks, VLA Operations 96Feb04 20:20:00 The COmputer systems check OK. The array is phasing good at < 15 RMS. The First and only VLBI tape is VLBA0267, A20C. The tape turned and is taking data . 96Feb04 20:13:59 - 96Feb04 23:53:28 Form #: Other # of Ants: 4.00 Downtime: 877.93 Antenna(s) 1 9 15 23 - OTHER (Miscellaneous Equipment) Problem(s); The observer wanted these antennas (northernmost) out, in order to make a good C-array configuration with the rest.
