COM 100 8 2306-2321 *LA loss of communication between the Mark5 and the 19856 100 15 station VME, Can not online the Mark5 discs. Can ping the Mark5, says its alive. Will reboot the VME first to see if this re-establishes communication. 2310 *LA rebooting VME did not re-establish communication 19856 with the Mark5. Issued a reboot of the Mark5 around 2311 UT. Did another reboot of the VME at about 2317 UT. 2321 LA was able to re-establish communication 19856 between Mark5 and VME. Looks like there may have been a problem in switching from the pack in bank B (NRAO-029) to the pack in bank A (NRAO-216). Disk status screen shows that the back in bank B is 100% full (2000.14 out of 2000.27 Gb used). Will email Mark5 support staff. 0000 Date is 2007FEB11/042. 0006 %LA Walter sent email saying that the pack in 19856 bank B (NRAO-029) wasn't full; it only had 1418 of 2000 Gb used. 0009-0327 *LA Communication lost for Mark5 19856 100 198 Did a mk5status for LA, got: unit is hung. Reboot. Called Walter at home, he will investigate as to what is happening. 0040 *LA Walter said to shutdown the Mark5 then do two 19856 chatterbox resets to cycle power on the Mark5 unit. Once this is done, he wants me to call him back and he will record some test data to verify all is ok. 0048 *LA first chatterbox reset of Mark5 is done. 19856 0055 *LA second chatterbox reset of Mark5 is done. 19856 0100 LA called Walter, he will do his magic... 19856 0107 *LA Water unable to log in to Mark5, he wants 19856 another chatterbox reset (toggles power switch for one second) to be done. 0114 LA Walter was able to log in, however, when there 19856 is a command to stop recording the Mark5 hangs up with the communication lost error.
