CHECKLIST FOR VLBA DATA CHECKOUT (Version 6.2 13 January 2006) =================================================================== PROJECT: RDV54 ON 2005Dec14 AT 1759 TO Dec15 AT 1801 JOBS: 2920-2947 CORR. DATE: Jan.20,23-24 #TAPES: 1 STATIONS: SC HN NL FD LA PT KP OV BR MK GC GG HH TC WF WF #stns _16_ _x_ 1. Check tape distribution log(s) against job creation checksheet(s). _-_ 2. If necessary, copy the proposal coversheet and place in project folder. _-_ 3. Make a file called 'sniffer_srcs.lis' with a list of sniffing sources with a format like: 3C84 CONT 1.5 (time in hours between plots) _x_ 4. Run fitex1 or fitex2 LIST . refant startfile endfile Source LIST LINE/CONT Tape 1: NL 2920 2947 all con HH " " _x_ 5. a. Was polarization requested? no Is it ON? no b. Were special coordinates requested? No. But coordinates for three sources were needed from GSFC website: Which sources? 0649-209, 1241+176, 1708+433 *** Check the plots for the following *** _x_ 1. WEIGHTS: gaps? stations missing? low values? Playback is generally good for all stations. BR had a brief period of variable weights, but it is not fringing anyway. _x_ 2. AUTOCORRELATION: plots for all stations? consistent amplitudes? RFI is prevalent in BBC5, S band, at most sites. Some sites are also affected in all S band channels (BR,MK,HN,KP) _x_ 3. CROSS-CORRELATION: plots for all stations? linear phase solutions? _x_ 4. RAPD: good delay, phase and amplitude solutions for all calibrator scans? (range of 20 mHz for rate and 100 ns for delay) BR is not fringing due to a subreflector problem (since repaired). _x_ Give the folder and data tape to local contact. Additional Notes: ON was dropped from correlation; log was in the wrong format. WZ disk pack NYAL-009 suffered a catastrophic failure, data is unrecoverable. The data on the other WZ pack appears fine. FD dish may have been wet from precipitation prior to this run. MK winds were strong; max gusts up to 50mph. Antenna autostowed a couple of times. NL had snow and freezing rain throughout this observation. Tsys are affected.
